I decided to leave my old town. People kept chasing me with sticks. I looked in a travel brochure and decided to move here to Garthton. It's a nice town. I met Tom Nook, a raccoon, today. He gave me a house! Now all I have to do is work for him to pay off my house. How long is this going to take? October 21
I met this bird named Admiral today. He lives next to me. Get this: He's green! Isn't that funny? I met him when I bumped into him while I was running in circles. At first, he yelled at me, then he asked me who I was. I said, "Me!" The story kinda tells itself from there... October 22
I ran around town shaking trees. Bags of money fell from the branches! A beehive fell out of one tree. Bees stung my eye. October 25
It rained today. It made looking up in the air much more difficult than usual. October 27
I met a gorilla today. She's purple, and her name is Jane. Jane kept asking me if I wanted to go on a diet, so I slapped her. October 31
Today was Halloween. I dressed up as a white sheet. Everyone kept assuming I was dressed up as a ghost. They wanted candy from me, but I didn't have any, so they tore up my clothes. November 15
I was shaking trees today and I met some guy. He's a blue goat or something. Don't ask me. I wasn't paying attention when he told me his name, and I thought it would be awkward to ask him what his name was, so I just walked away. November 26
What's a Harvest Festival? It's all everyone's been talking about. I guess being the new guy in town has it's disadvantages, like not knowing about stuff before you got there... November 28
Today was the Harvest Festival. There was supposed to be a big turkey dinner, but there was no turkey. I was determined to find a turkey to eat. I found one hiding behind a tree. He begged me not to turn him in, but, hey, turkey's my favorite food. The Harvest Dinner was delicious. November 29
Tom Nook had a sale. He had little grab bags filled with random items. I spent thousands of Bells on those grab bags, but all I kept was a pinwheel. Oh yeah, I paid off my house earlier this month... December 2
Yesterday was Snow Day, but I slept through it, so I can't tell you everything that happened... December 10
There was a humongous blizzard last night. Everything is covered with snow! I made a snowball, carried it into Nook's store, and threw it right in his face. He was upset at first, but then he ran outside, gathered a snowball, and threw it at me. I ducked, it bounced off of Admiral behind me, and splattered right back into Nook's face! December 20
Word on the street is that Jingle is coming to town!!!!! Who's Jingle? December 23
I talked to Teddy and he repeatedly told me that he loves the winter festivals. He said he enjoys spending time celebrating with his friends and family. Get a life, Teddy. December 24
Jingle is stupid. He did not give me anything. I'm sad all because of Jingle. December 28
I tried to build a snowman, but the snowballs just melted in the river or exploded after they fell over a cliff. January 1
Today was the first day of the new year. Everyone was celebrating at the wishing well and making wishes. They asked me to join. I threw all my money in the well and made a stupid wish. "I wish that this wish will come true!" January 6
I met a skunk today. Boy, she is smelly! Her name's Blaire. Don't ask me why. January 16
Today I met Bob, a cat. He kept rubbing up against me, purring. It was so awkward that I ran away screaming and never came back. January 23
I met Cheri today. I think she's like a big red bear or something. I like her striped shirt. January 26
Today is my birthday! Admiral and Sven mailed me presents. Admiral gave me a bird and Sven gave me clothes. I like Admiral, so I went to his house and thanked him right away. However, I don't like Sven, so I didn't thank him. When he walked up to me to ask about the present, I just nonchalantly walked away. February 2
Today was Groundhog's day and Resetti said we'd have a billion years of winter. I'm getting tired of this snow. February 9
I went to a nearby island on a boat. There was a bear there. Her name is June. June kept creeping me out, causally calling me 'rainbow'. February 14
Today was Valentine's Day. All people said was  . Jane kept looking at me funny. I don't like her looking at me like that. I'm scared of Jane now. February 17
A walrus named Wendell took my apple. I was hoping he would give me some of his artwork in exchange for it, but he did not. I hate Wendell. I am going to kill him. Then he won't be so hungry. February 21
Woolio moved in to Garthton today. I think he's a goat or a porcupine, but I don't know. He is so cool! We went around telling people jokes. I didn't understand them, but Woolio thought they were funny. Blaire didn't like them, though. February 28
So I don't get it... There will be no 29th this month? How stupid is that!? March 3
Writing in my diary is more fun than writing profanities on the notice board. I think I'll start collecting diaries. I think Nook sells them at his store. I'll have to check there after I steal Sven's comic book. March 4
I bought a new diary from Nook and took it home, and, much to my surprise, there was already writing in it! It was the same as what I had already written in my other diary! I decided to return that diary to Nook. We were both confused about the writing in the second diary. I guess some things are naturally weird. March 7
As I hit Admiral in the head with my net, I wondered why he was always yelling at people. What's his problem? March 9
The toilet in my basement flooded when I tried to flush my leftovers down it. I caught a fish and put it in the toilet, but that didn't help. March 14
This flooding is getting bad. I left my front door open for the water to rush out, but that didn't make the toilet stop overflowing. I need a better plan. March 21
Today was the Spring Sports fair. Tortimer mistook me for a winner and gave me a medal. I kept it without saying anything. Then I ran over to Bob. He was playing basketball with Jane. I decided to be helpful by taking the ball and throwing it into the ocean. Jane approached me, growling, and that's when I realized that I wasn't really being helpful at all... March 28
I fixed my toilet! Seems like I just needed to jiggle the handle! April 1
Since it is April Fools' Day, I think I'll steal Nook's cash register and throw it into the lake. He'll be mad at me, but when I tell him it was a joke, we'll start laughing. April 2
I'm banned from Nook's store for a month. April 5
All the trees in town turned pink for the Cherry Blossom Festival. I wonder if they'll turn yellow for the Lemon Blossom Festival. Oh wait, there is no Lemon Blossom Festival. My mistake. April 9
I made Cheri cry when I hit her with my net. She told me, "April Fools' Day only happens on the first of April, rainbow." April 10
I ran around catching bugs today. Catching bugs is fun. Using the net to catch bugs gives me much more satisfaction than using it as a weapon. April 13
A boar named Joan visited town today and I bought turnips from her. Some may say 462 Bells per turnip may be pricey, but it will be worth it. April 14
I went to Nook's store and tried to sell my turnips to him, but he just glared at me until I knocked his cash register to the floor. He called Officer Copper, who said stuff to me, but I wasn't listening. April 22
My turnips spoiled, so I threw them in the ocean. May 1
Today is Spring Cleaning Day, and Gracie told me to wash her car. But just to be funny, I jumped into it and drove it right into the cliffside, and then she got mad! Some people just can't take a joke! Oh, I guess I need to get this April Fools' spirit out of my system. May 4
June was sad that it was raining yesterday and she doesn't like getting wet. So I pushed her into the ocean because she would get wet and then I could tease her about being wet, but she just drifted away with the current. I hope there weren't any witnesses... May 10
Bob said I act too spontaneously. I got upset, so I pushed him into a pear tree without thinking. Officer Copper was right there, watching the whole thing. He came over, pushed me, and asked me how much I liked it. I said "You act too spontaneously." Copper just glared at me. May 14
I was sick today, so I stayed home. I realized how boring it was at my house, so I had Admiral go out and buy me some Nintendo games. My favorite one is Wario's Woods. I played it all day. My headache got worse and worse from staring at the screen, but I had plenty of aspirins around the house. May 15
I got better this afternoon, so I went to Nook's. He asked me if I was feeling better, and I said yes. May 18
I went to the dump and found the coolest sweater. I mailed it to Admiral. May 26
Today was Memorial Day, so Mayor Tortimer told us to meet around the flag and say the Pledge of Allegiance. He told me to take off my hat before we started, but I couldn't. I don't know why. May 31
I saw that Bob was curled up on top of the cliff today, watching for birds. He had been watching for hours when he saw Admiral. Bob started chasing Admiral around, and Admiral had to give him some catnip to get him to stop chasing him. I slowly walked away, pretending that I hadn't seen anything. If anybody asks about this, please tell them that I wasn't there. June 2
Crazy Redd came to town today, so I went to his tent. He said to me, "I have some craaaaaazy bargains for you today!" I saw a nice looking blue clock. I liked it a lot, and Redd said that it used to be in a museum, but I was short by a few thousand Bells. I told him that I would be able to come back tomorrow with more Bells, and he told me that he would hold the clock for me. June 3
I'm so bored! I think I'll draw a picture in my diary.

I forgot all about Redd and forgot to pick up the clock. He left and I haven't heard from him since. June 7
I found an ax in the dump today, and spent a lot of time chopping down all the pine trees in Garthton. I don't know why I did what I did. I cannot tell a lie, either—I cut down all the cherry trees too. It's a good thing I kept some cherries. I'll grow myself a private cherry orchard. June 8
Today was the Summer Fishing Tourney, and I must say, I really disappointed myself. My hope was to catch a large bass and win the tournament, but I didn't catch one single fish. Woolio recommended that I try using a fishing line. I'll have to try that next week. June 15
Oh, I'm so tired. I spent five hours sewing Blaire an anti-stink shirt. I hope she likes it. June 16

I was watching my TV today. Apparently, there's no good TV reception out here, so I took to my TV with a wrench. It's ruined. June 30
Tom Nook had his monthly drawing today. The grand prize was a candy machine. I really wanted it. To win the grand prize, you have to spin a container. If a blue marble falls out, you win. If it is any other color, you do not win the grand prize. I decided to cheat to get the candy machine. I told Nook that there was money outside. He ran out there, and while he was gone, I replaced all the marbles in the container with blue ones. Then Nook came back in. I spun the container, and a blue one came out! He gave me the candy machine! Then he asked me if I wanted to spin it again, so I did. He noticed that there were two blue balls, but there should only be one. He has kicked me from his store for another month. July 4
Today was Fireworks Day and we had a Fireworks Show. A firework fell over and hit me. I thought it was funny (what are the odds of being hit by a firework!?) but everyone else thought it was serious. But I said, "It's no big deal." July 6
Tom Nook doesn't like me. I went in his store, but he said, "Get out, you cheater!" What's his problem? I have never cheated in all my life, I think... July 8
While Admiral and I were fishing this morning, Cheri came over and joined us. To be funny (I like being funny), I threw a fish at her face. I have never seen her more angry before. July 9
I was going to go over to Cheri's house today to apologize, but I got lost and fell in the lake. I didn't want Cheri to see me wet, so I decided to go bug hunting instead. July 15
I went to the island again today. I stole all the stuff in June's house. Now who's smarter, June? July 19
Kapp'n shouldn't leave his boat at the dock. I stole it today and went fishing. I accidentally made a hole in the bottom of the boat in the middle of the ocean, and the boat started sinking. I won't bore you with how I managed to get back to the shore. July 25

A pink horse moved into Garthton today. Her eyes are like +s. Oh, her name's Peaches. I hope she likes peaches. July 31
I gave Peaches a peach. She ate it. Then I gave her another one. And another. And another and another and another and another and another and another. August 3
I stayed up late last night. Admiral, Teddy, Sven, Woolio, Bob, and I were going to spy on the girls' party. It was past three A.M. All they were doing was sleeping. Just after Sven and Woolio went to sleep, a big, pale ghost snuck up behind us. He asked us to collect all the spirits so that he wouldn't get in trouble. I said, "No. It's your problem.
