Jelly Beans in the Ant Bully's World

Obviously, the jelly beans are Jelly Bellys because they have the distinctive logo printed on them.  Now, I can't be certain, but there only appears to be seven different colors of beans, with two different shades of orange.  This appears to be a unique assortment of Jelly Belly beans, and none of the beans appear to have any splotchery.

What beans are there?

Now I must remind you that I myself have never seen this movie (and do not plan to ever see it) so all the information I have about the types of beans featured in the movie is gathered from this single picture, shown above.

Starting on the left, we see a yellow jelly bean, which is probably a Top Banana, but there aren't any brown splotches; we must assume that the splotchery of the bean wasn't done perfectly, and that if there are any splotches, that they are off-screen.  The bean must be Top Banana, because there are no other opaque (non-translucent) beans with yellow coloration.

The next bean we come to is an orange one.  This bean is slightly redder in color than the orange bean on the very right of the picture.  I'm having difficulty with this one; the only opaque orange bean (all the beans in the picture are opaque) is Orange Sherbet.  I don't want to begin copping out already, but I'm afraid I have to declare that both of the orange beans are Orange Sherbet, and I'm afraid there is no way around it.

The next bean is obviously Island Punch.  It couldn't be any closer to the actual coloration of Island Punch.

To the right of Island Punch is another red-orange bean, then another yellow one in the background.  Next to that, we have a light-green bean.  It must be Kiwi, because Kiwi is the only bean with the green-yellow color.

Next over, we have a dark blue bean, which can only be Blueberry.  I'm a little confused because the bean appears to have very small, faint darker splotches, but it's not obvious, so I'm going to pretend that this splotchery doesn't exist.

After Blueberry, there's a red bean.  It's probably Red Apple.  It appears to be dark, but that's only because of shadows from the light source in the background.

So there you have it, the Ant Bully lives in a pathetic world where he has only six or so flavors of jelly beans.  If I were the ants and had to choose one of the beans, I would probably take Orange Sherbet.  Oh, and I would avoid carrying Blueberry because it would stain my ant hands blue.

Where are the special flavors?

By now, you're probably asking yourself, "But what about those special flavors?  Where's Alka Root, Ant Hill, Caterpillar, and Lawn Clippings?  They're not featured in that picture!"

Well, the only possible reason I could come up with for those additional beans is that the ants made them themselves.  Unfortunately, they don't have a huge amount of resources to make their beans.  That's why there's such a range of disgusting flavors!

Lawn Clippings?  They make that flavor after gathering all the cut blades of grass from around the yard.  And Ant Hill?  Well, they form that from all the excess dirt around the top of their homes.  And Caterpillar, well, ants like eating caterpillars, so they just take caterpillars and make beans out of those.  And Alka Root... well, who knows?

Of course, they add sugar to the beans to make them sweet like candy.  And they make sure to paint the Jelly Belly logo on the side of the beans for that extra touch of perfection.  So yeah, that's where all those weird flavors come from.
